Meet Jeremy
Hi, I’m Jeremy.
I specialize in counseling children, teenagers, young adults, and parents with various concerns, such as anxiety, social skills, behavioral issues, and anger management skills, parent/teenager relationships, and school issues. I am particularly passionate about helping children and teenagers learn social skills and coping skills to thrive in schools and at home, as many children have a difficult time in the adolescent and teenage years discovering who they are and how to handle emotions.
My Experience
Prior to counseling, I worked as a youth director, and throughout my time I realized my true passion was helping youth grow and understand who they really are. So I went back to school because life is too short to not follow your passion. I earned a masters degree in clinical mental health from University of Alabama at Birmingham. During my three years as a licensed counselor, I have worked for Impact Family Counseling as an outpatient counselor as well as a schools counselor for children referred by various school systems.
What’s counseling like with me?
I typically utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused, and person-centered approaches. The counseling approach used completely depends on the individual, and each approach will be tailored to the specific needs of the client.
The relationship between the client and counselor is one the most important tools for growth, so I prioritize building the relationship with the client to create a safe, comfortable, and fun space for each individual to express themselves. For children and teenagers this can be done in a variety of ways such as playing games the child enjoys or discussing their hobbies to connect with the individual so that counseling can have greater benefits. For adults, this may look like developing a relationship of trust and exploring any topics on the client’s mind over time.

“Do not feel guilty for prioritizing your emotional well-being. You deserve to flourish in safe spaces.” - Alexandra Elle
There is no better time than now to invest in yourself. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
If you are tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, moody, or simply just lacking a sense of who you are, it is time to make a change.
It is important to discover your worth and discover who you want to be and how you want to feel. Change happens once you begin to understand who you are.
invest in yourself
Give yourself grace. Parenting is hard.
Children and teenagers are hard and test every parent’s patience at some point. Counseling can help the relationship though. Counseling can also help your child develop the skills to manage their emotions, identify their self worth, learn social skills, and simply feel understood and heard.
Each and every child can benefit from counseling, just as parents could benefit. Invest in your child. Invest in the relationship.
Parenting is hard
Simply put, the desire to grow comes from within. Counseling can help you get there and give you the tools to become your best self, but you have to want to grow.
Imagine a life in which you were in touch with yourself, your needs, and your emotions in a way that was healthy to you. Imagine being truly connected to your inner soul.
Do yourself a favor, and become the best version of you. No matter how old you are, invest in yourself, invest in your relationships, and invest the time into becoming the best version of you.
become the best version of you
Feeling safe and comfortable to be your true self is the key to healing and growth.
Our top priority is helping you feel comfortable and safe in the environment, as well as in the relationship with your counselor.
Whether you want to play games during your session, have the session over Zoom within the comfort of your own home, or simply lay on the office couch during your session, we want to meet your needs to create a safe space for you to express yourself.
Safety to express yourself
No matter what stage of life you are in, it’s important to feel confident and passionate so that you can fully enjoy life.
Often times our confidence and self-esteem gets in the way of our joy, passion, social skills, emotional awareness, and just life in general. In counseling, the goal is to help you find the confidence and self-esteem to create a life and relationships that you can fully enjoy.
Through counseling, you can hopefully find the freedom and safety to express yourself, your desires, and dreams in life and in your relationships, so that we can help give you the tools to grow and cope with everything life throws at you.
